Attaching YourBagTag Scuba Name ID Tags to Dive Shop & Resort Rental Gear 0
While 4 inch zip ties work well for attaching YourBagTag scuba name ID tags to recreational gear, dive shops and resort rentals get a lot more wear and tear. A more sturdy way of attaching tags was given to us several years ago by a dive shop owner who stopped into our booth at the Diving Equipment Marketing Association (DEMA) trade show.
You will need several items - 150 lb test fishing leader, mini copper double barrel crimp sleeves 1.4 mm X 7 mm, and a crimping tool. I purchased mine on Amazon.com, here are the links as of Jan. 2017:
Cut a suitable length of leader material - actual length will depend on where you are going to attach the tag. Try and keep the length to a minimum as excessive length may allow the tag to catch on other equipment. Carefully insert ends of leader into the barrel crimp and use crimping tool to finish the crimp. Be sure and test by pulling on the tag.
Note: If you are using a different thickness - lighter/heavier line, you will need to adjust the size of the crimp. CatchAllTackle.com suggests the following crimp sizes for line:
- 1.0mm x 14mm 60-80lb mono,
- 1.3mm x 14mm 80-150 lb,
- 1.4mm x 14mm 120-150lb,
- 1.5mm x 14mm 150-200lb,
- 1.8mm x 14mm 250-300lb,
- 2.0mm x 14mm 300-400lb,
- 2.2mm x 14mm 400-500lb,
- 2.5mm x 14mm 500-600lb,
- 2.7mm x14mm 600+,
- 2.9mm x 14mm
Thoughtful Idea for a Memorial BC Pro Scuba Name Tag 0
We love doing custom scuba equipment BC name tag requests but this is one of the more touching and thoughtful ones. A customer reached out and asked if we could do a personalized tag as a memorial for a friend who had recently passed away - one who loved scuba diving. The BC Pro tag was going to be attached to the BC that had been owned by their friend. While we are not Latin language experts, Google translate suggested that "ad mare in aeternum" meant "In the sea of eternity". Thank you for letting us help you with this wonderful way to memorialize your friend in a very special way.
New Full Color Scuba BC Name ID Tags 0
Full color Scuba tags are here! We have had many, many requests for our Scuba BC name tags in full color. Last month we invested in a state of the art, GoVivid Breeze UV-LED printer that allows us to print full color on almost any flat surface material - plastic, glass, stainless steel and more. The results are very exciting. We offer a variety of our own full-color designs. You can see them here. We are also happy to do explore creating custom tags for your specific needs. Dive shops, dive resorts, dive clubs and organizations can incorporate their own logos into our tag offerings. Below are several examples we have done for DJ's Scuba Locker in Brookfield, Illinois and Sweet Bottom Dive Center in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. We would love to make some for you, contact us here.
Personalized Scuba Equipment Name & ID Tags - 3 Must Haves 0
You will have to pick your scuba gear out of a crowd many times during your dive trip. Crowded wetsuit drying lockers, congested dive boat decks and gear rinse areas are just of few of those places. YourBagTag offers a variety of custom scuba name tag and scuba gear ID systems to help you easily identify your specific gear.
All your dive gear should be marked with at least your name or initials. We believe that there are 3 pieces of your equipment that will benefit from our personalized scuba name & ID tags.
- Your wetsuit zipper - zipper pull Putting one of our inexpensive wetsuit zipper tags on your wetsuit makes it extremely easy to pick yours out of that crowded drying locker.
- Your BC - buoyancy compensator As you can see from the top photo, the BC Name - ID tag makes it really easy to identify your BC/Kit on a crowded dive boat deck. Divemasters love BC tags because they can learn the individual divers names much faster.
- Your dive gear bag We have a wide variety of options for you here. From small 1.5 inch to 4 inch plastic luggage tags, it completely depends on your needs and personal taste. Our favorites are the 2 inch equipment tag and the small crew tag.
Of course, personalized mask straps, boot tags, and extreme luggage tags are all great ways to ID your gear as well.
